These 2nd graders are checking it out!  It looks like they will “Shoot for the Stars!  Dream Big – READ!” at the Aplington Library this summer. To kick off the summer, we are asking those entering grades 1-4 to come to the library to get their picture taken (they will be using it in their personal booklet), to sign-up for the program if they haven’t already done so, to help us complete the decorating of the library for the summer program, and to watch a movie.  All this action will take place on Wed., May 30 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. And the action for this age group continues on June 6 at 1:00, when their program officially begins.  Stay tuned for many more details as they unfold.  For now, let’s just say we will be “lighting up the night” with a planetarium, some hocus pocus, and a whole lot more!
 On May 31, the 3 – 6 year olds will get a head start on the rest of the gang this summer when their program starts off with “Nighty-Night”.  Schedules for this age group have been completed and are available at the library.   
 A separate program for those entering grades 5 – 8, “Own the Night”, is also in the works.  This group will change to a different time slot this year and will be meeting from 11:00 – 12:30 on Tuesdays beginning on June 12.  And yes, it will include lunch!  What more can you ask for?
