1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program

Aplington Legion Memorial Library is a proud new participant of the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program. This program is free and encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before they enter kindergarten. The program can take anywhere from a few months to a few years. It's all at your pace. For example, if you read 1 book every night, you will have read about 365 books in a year. In three years, that is 1,095 books!

Everytime you and your child reach a milestone of 100 books, we will celebrate at the library with you with a special picture and a prize.
